| Description | This is a one-credit course open to any student who has not taken chemistry or physics. The course is designed to provide an introduction to the basic concepts of chemistry and physics. Students are introduced to the processes of scientific investigation, to the common properties, forms and changes in matter and energy (motion, energy, mechanics, classification of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonds, solutions, and reactions, waves, sound, light, mirror, lenses, electricity, and magnetism), and to the interrelationships between science, technology, and human activity. |
