Course Description:
This course is designed to provide the student with the basic concepts of geology, both from a physical and historical perspective. Students are introduced to the identification, properties, formation, and occurrence of rocks and minerals, to the earth's physical processes (earthquakes, volcanoes, mountain building, weathering, erosion), land forms, the interpretation of the history of the earth based on fossil evidence, and to the exploitation of natural resources.
